April Adventures in Oklahoma City

Spring is here, and the temperatures are rising in Oklahoma City. This perfect weather means there are tons of outdoor activities and events on schedule for the month of April. Fire up your RV and cruise to some of these unbeatable events throughout OKC this month.

The Auto Alley Shop Hop

The Auto Alley Shop Hop takes place on the third Thursday of every month, but April’s mild temperatures make the event even more enjoyable. Head down to Automobile Alley for extended shopping hours at local retailers, open houses at numerous shops, tons of kids’ activities, delicious eats, street artists and free live music for everyone to enjoy. The event takes place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and is free to the public.

Weekender Keeper Connections

Take the whole family down to the Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Gardens on any Saturday or Sunday in April for unique zoo presentations by the zoo keepers themselves. Keeper Connections are held around the zoo at numerous habitats throughout the day. Log onto the Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Gardens website to see a list of Keeper Connections times and locations. The event will continue through October, but you can beat the heat and the crowds by visiting this April.

First Fifty Years of Oklahoma Art

The First Fifty Years of Oklahoma Art exhibit at the Gaylord-Pickens Oklahoma Heritage Museum will come to a close on April 25. The exhibit has been available for viewing every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday since January, and the final chances to view it are now. A lecture will be held on Thursday, April 23 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., to discuss the history of Oklahoma art dating back to the state’s first 50 years. The Gaylord-Pickens Museum is located at 1400 Classen Dr.
