Campgrounds for the Fourth of July

If you’re looking for a great place – yet different place – to camp for the Fourth of July holiday, choose one of these places. Of course, some are quite the distance, so your location choice depends on how long you have for the holiday.

Be sure to have your RV serviced at Leisure Time RV before you leave – or if you don’t have an RV, stop by to tour several floor plans. You may just have a new “home away from home,” and with some time on your hands, you will definitely be in for some fun.

Head east into Tennessee to have some great fun. Rock Island State Park is throwing a bash this year – kids get to make red, white and blue tie-dyed t-shirts and decorate their bikes to ride a parade. Plus, there will be Revolutionary War water balloon fights, night hikes, sand castle building, watermelon eating contests and campfire programs. For more information, visit or call (931) 686-2471.

If you’re heading to Kansas, stop at Crawford State Park. The park will be starting its festivities on July 2. Enjoy a cookout, live band, kid-friendly activities and fireworks. Crawford State Park is located at #1 Lake Road, Farlington, Kansas. For more information call (620) 362-3671.

Day Lake in Glidden, Wisconsin will also be holding a celebration. You’ll enjoy a parade, food booths and fireworks at dusk. Kids will love the freshly grilled barbecue and the kiddie rides. The park is located at 22223 Highway 13, Glidden Wisconsin. For more information call (715) 634-4821.

Fall Creek Falls, located in southern middle Tennessee is having a celebration. You can dress up your RV, your pet or your bike – or even yourself – for the Independence Day parade. The parade starts in the village and goes to Campground A. Enjoy watermelon and cake, then head over to the field for tug-o-war, a sack race, egg toss and other games. At 7:30 p.m., Lou Wamp and Swing Shift will be performing. For more information, visit or call (423) 881-5298 for more information.

Before you head out, remember to stop by Leisure Time RV to have your RV checked or serviced, or to pick up any accessories you may need for your trip.
