Check Out One of Oklahoma’s Most Delicious Landmarks

When you’re cruising Oklahoma in your RV this fall or winter, we imagine you’ll be on the lookout for cool places to stop. After all, while the destination is always your goal, the journey along the way can get pretty stale if you never stop to smell the roses.

This delicious landmark has graced Oklahoma for over a century, but you can easily pass it by if you don’t know to look for it. It’s in a pretty nondescript building and doesn’t go out of its way to advertise and missing out would be a real shame.

Eischen’s Bar in Okarche is billed as Oklahoma’s oldest bar, founded in 1896, and it’s still going strong. Every day and night it’s got locals rubbing elbows with tourists, though everyone is there for the same reason: the simple yet delicious menu.

When we say simple, we mean there aren’t that many options on there. There is, however, a specialty: their famous whole fried chicken. At $11, you get 8 pieces of fried chicken with bread, pickles, and onion on the side. Eischen’s cooks over 4000 birds a week and gets visitors from all over the U.S. and beyond. There’s also BBQ and chili available at Eischen’s if you’re not big on fried chicken and, of course, plenty of beers on tap.
