Independence Day Recipes

Everyone loves celebrating the 4th of July. It means fireworks, great food and wonderful company. Listed here are a couple recipes that are sure the get things fired up this holiday.

Patriotic Pudding Cups

These are perfect for summer. If you love Oreo, you will love this sweet and colorful Patriotic dessert.

  • 3 packages of White Chocolate Pudding 3.3 ounces each
  • 5.5 Cups of milk
  • Blue Summertime Oreos (regulars are fine if you cant find these)
  • Clear Cups for serving
  • Red and Blue gel food coloring
  • Cool Whipped

Crush up your Oreos and spoon a couple of tablespoons into the bottom of your clear cups. Next, make your pudding in different bowls so your food coloring doesn’t mix together. Add your blue food coloring and red food coloring to your pudding mix. Using the gel food coloring makes your colors more vibrant. Add your blue layer of pudding mix over the layer of crushed Oreos. With your second layer, instead of mixing 2 cups of cold milk with your pudding only mix 1.5 cups and add 2 cups of cool whipped dessert topping. This will make your middle layer extra fluffy as well as make it whiter. Finish with your red layer and make as directed by the box. Garnish with more crushed Oreos and refrigerate.

Festive Fruit Parfaits

These are sure to make a bang at your camper this Independence Day!

  • Any of your favorite fresh fruits cut into small pieces
  • 1 package 8oz cream cheese softened
  • ½ cup of frozen limeade concrete thawed
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup cool whip

Clean and slice your favorite fruits such as strawberries and watermelon. In a medium bowl, mix together the cream cheese, limeade and powdered sugar until smooth. Next, fold in your whipped topping nice and slowly. In small glasses or even a bowl, layer your fruits and top with dressing.
