July Events

There is no shortage of fun events this July in OKC. Your Oklahoma City RV dealer has a long list of concerts, freebies and more to get you out and about. Some of them might even have you traveling in your camper to get to them. Here are some of the highlights.

The Myriad Botanical Gardens is not just a beautiful place to stroll through to observe the gorgeous landscaping. Last year, park officials began offering a free summer movie series that are family-friendly. It’s back this year and they are showing a wealth of wholesome movies every Wednesday through July and August. With movies like Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and Forrest Gump, it will surely please everyone. This is the perfect time to chill under the stars and spend time with family. There will be food vender trucks and others on site as well but an admission fee is never charged.

Everyone loves animals. Lions. Tigers. Bears. Oh my! Most major cities have at least one zoo so we can enjoy these breathtaking creatures anytime we want as well as protect them from endangerment. The OKC Zoo, which is the oldest zoo in the Southwest, is offering free admission on July 17th in honor of their Sales Tax Appreciation Day. Also on Wednesdays during July and August, you can take advantage of their “groovy retro” for only $1.

What about those of us who love the arts? Shakespeare in the Park is performing two different plays in July; Ring Round the Moon and King John. Both plays cost $15 per adult and $10 for students, seniors and military. Ring Round the Moon is a play about a brother who tries to help his twin’s loveless marriage. It is filled with wit and charm and will leave you with an unexpected happy ending. For more information on these wonderful plays, visit http://oklahomashakespeare.com/.
