If you’ve never been to Marfa, Texas, you’re missing out. Experience the atmosphere of the high desert in far West Texas in this tiny town of less than 2,000 people. This ultra creative oasis in the desert is an ideal place to escape, shop, enjoy a spa treatment, visit art galleries, hike and dine on tasty Texas eats.

The following are a few of the things you should see and do on your trip to famous Marfa.

Shop Until You Drop

Marfa, Texas, is one of the best places in the U.S. to shop for unique clothing, gifts, accessories and more. Explore the Cobra Rock Boot Company, Christopher’s Home Furnishings, locally-made crafts at Freda, leather goods, homemade soaps, unique boutique finds and so much more in downtown Marfa and beyond.

Experience the Marfa Lights

Every Marfa visitor needs to experience the mystical Marfa Lights. This unique phenomena outside of Marfa started in the 19th century and continues today in 2016. This practically uninhabited area has been known to present mystical red, blue and white lights to those who are out watching. The lights have been said to appear randomly throughout the night in all seasons and weather. Head to the Marfa Lights Viewing Area 9 miles east of downtown on Highway 90 toward the town of Alpine.

Eat Your Heart Out

Marfa is a West Texas hotspot for foodies, so don’t forget your appetite. Stuff yourself with tacos at the Boyz2Men Taco Trailer, sip fresh brewed coffee at Frama, find your inner child at the Grilled Cheese Parlour or sip some suds at the famous Lost Horse Saloon. Whatever type of cuisine or drink you’re seeking, Marfa offers it and more.
