Spring has finally sprung in Oklahoma, and it’s time to trade those winter jackets for shorts, t-shirts and flip flops. And with so many great sights to see and events to visit throughout our beautiful state this spring, there’s no better time to fire up your RV and hit the roads than now.

Festival of the Arts

From April 22 to 27, Oklahoma City is bustling with the six-day-long Festival of the Arts. Over 140 artists come from around the country to display their artistic, culinary and performance talents. Be sure to visit Stage Center Lawn for a massive sculpture exhibit, the Myriad Gardens for kinetic arts and the infamous International Food Row.

Visit Alabaster Caverns State Park

The largest public gypsum cave in the world is located Freedom, Okla., and spring is one of the best times of year to visit. Take a guided tour below the surface of the Earth, and if you’ve got the right equipment and a permit from the park, you can even give spelunking a try.

Norman Music Festival

More than 100 local and international bands will perform at the annual Norman Music Festival held April 24-26 this year. Artists performing on Thursday and Friday nights will play at a variety of Norman’s indoor venues, but Saturday’s events will be held on outdoor stages in a full festival atmosphere on East Main Street. Magnum Rattlesnake Derby

If you’ve never been to the Magnum Rattlesnake Derby, you should probably attend the festival held the last weekend of April this year. Not only does the festival feature an event in which hunters race to catch rattlesnakes, the Magnum Rattlesnake Derby is also an exciting carnival with plenty of games, activities, shopping, food and fun for the entire family.
