No-Bake Dessert Recipes for National Dessert Day


Hungry RV travelers can always use another excuse to enjoy some sweet treats. October 14, is National Dessert Day, which means it’s time to cook up some delicious desserts in the comfort of your RV. These two no-bake dessert recipes are quick and easy to make, but they’re guaranteed to please every sweet tooth at the campsite.

No-Bake Peanut Butter Pie

What you need:

  • 1 cup natural-style creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 block cream cheese (8 ounces, softened)
  • 12 ounces frozen whipped topping (thawed)
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 ounces)
  • 20 teaspoons chocolate sundae syrup
  • 2 graham cracker crusts

Preparation instructions:

  1. Stir the peanut butter, cream cheese and powdered sugar together in a large bowl.
  2. Beat the peanut butter mixture with a mixer until smooth.
  3. Stir in the milk and beat until combined. Fold the whipped topping into the mixture.
  4. Divide the entire mixture between the two crusts, then let the pies chill for about 8 hours. The pies should have a fluffy texture when finished chilling.
  5. Slice the pie into wedges and drizzle the chocolate sauce on top before serving.

Chocolate Almond Cherry Crisps

What you’ll need:

  • 3/4 cup white chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup dried cherries
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1/3 cup slivered almonds
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Preparation instructions:

  1. Use wax paper to cover a large baking sheet.
  2. Microwave the white chocolate chips and semisweet chocolate chips together in a medium glass bowl for 45 seconds.
  3. Stir the chocolate ships until smooth.
  4. Add the cereal and other ingredients into the medium bowl with the chocolate chips. Stir thoroughly to combine.
  5. Drop the mixture onto the baking sheet in tablespoonfuls.
  6. Chill the crisps until firm and enjoy.
