Now that it’s getting close to spring, it’s time to start planning your vacations. Whether you start RVing earlier during the spring or later, you may want to make reservations ahead of time at some of the popular places to visit. Some campgrounds fill up quickly, so if you have a must-see area, you’ll want to ensure that you do have a place to park.

Quartz Mountain Resort

This resort is located between the Wichita Mountains and Lake Altus-Lugert and it’s a great place for family fun or to get away with your significant other for a few days. If you want to take a trip earlier in the season, but don’t want to take the RV, you can stay in the lodge with its authentic furnishings.

Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge

At the wildlife refuge, you’ll see free-range bison herds, Texas Longhorn cattle, prairie dogs, coyotes and bobcats. Mount Scott is located in the park and when you climb to the top, you’ll be able to see for miles. And, you can enjoy tons of hiking trails.

Nature Falls State Park

Visit this park’s 77-foot waterfall and hike the trails to the basin pool in the bottom. You’ll see 17 different types of fern; and native trees such as the dogwood and redbud. Hike the trails or bring a book to read at the base of the falls if you want a great way to get rid of any stress buildup from not getting out all winter.

Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees

Choose from any of the state parks that border the Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees on its 1,300 miles of shoreline. Be sure to bring your camera to take pictures of the great views.

Robbers Cave State Park

Visit the Robbers Cave State Park where Jesse James was – you’ll have to climb the steep sandstone bluffs to do it, though. While you’re up there, take some great pictures of the panoramic view of the forest and the lakes that are below. This is a popular destination for equestrians.

Visit Leisure Time RV

If you think spending time at any of these parks in an RV sounds like fun and you don’t have an RV, stop by Leisure Time RV to walk through the many floor plans we have available.
