Summer is the best time of year in Oklahoma, and that’s because there are so many awesome festivals and events happening throughout the state. Fire up your RV and cruise to the Sooner State for these must-visit July events that are guaranteed to spice up your summer.

LibertyFest — Edmond

Here in Oklahoma, we don’t think the fun of the Fourth of July should last just one day. The town of Edmond’s LibertyFest has been rated one of the top 10 July 4th festivals in the country, and it’s a party you don’t want to miss. Concerts, a road rally, kite festival, car show, food vendors, an elaborate parade, fireworks and tons of other entertainment are on hand for the entire family. The festival will take place from June 25, through July 4, this year, so set your sites on Edmond for the duration of the event.

Woody Guthrie Folk Festival — Okemah

Cruise to Okemah, Okla., for the famed Woody Guthrie Folk Festival. The festival honors one of our country’s greatest folk musicians and songwriters with tons of music, poetry readings, kids’ activities and more throughout the star’s hometown. Enjoy a number of main stage performances at Crystal Theater, Pastures of Plenty and a variety of locations throughout downtown Okemah. Folk fans and music lovers won’t want to miss “Woody Fest.”

Valliant Watermelon Festival — Valliant

No fruit says summer like a juicy watermelon, and the Valliant Watermelon Festival is one of the best places to embrace the heart of the season. This July 24 and 25, head to the annual Watermelon Festival for a family-friendly parade, concerts, tons of watermelon eats, a seed spitting contest and plenty of other watermelon-related events.
