Top 5 RV Destinations in the U.S.

Have you decided where to go on your summer vacation this year? If you are still in the planning stages of your trip, you might consider some of these destinations. Some of them may have RV parks that sell out, so you may want to call ahead for reservations.

Before you do leave, be sure to stop at Leisure Time RV to have the RV checked and serviced if you haven’t done that yet this year; and to pick up any accessories that you may need or that need to be replaced.

  • Mount Rushmore National Memorial: Mount Rushmore is located at 13000 S. Dakota 244, Keystone, SD 57751. You can contact the park at (605) 574-2523. While the park itself does not offer camping or RV facilities within the memorial, you can find plenty of places to camp in the Black Hills. You’ll learn about the country’s birth, development, growth and preservation in addition to seeing some great sights.
  • Yellowstone National Park: When you visit Yellowstone National Park, you’ll get to see some of the best sights around, plus you’ll visit the world’s largest collection of geysers, including Old Faithful. You may also get to see wolves, grizzly bears, bison, elk and more.
  • Crater Lake National Park: If you are looking for the prettiest lake, visit Crate Lake in Oregon. The lake is pure and blue; and it is surrounded by 2000-foot cliffs. Be sure to bring your camera!
  • Redwood National Park: If you think Redwood National Park is all about tall trees, you’re only partly right. The park also features prairies, rivers, oak woodlands and coastline. Watch for elk and other wild animals during your visit.
  • Boyd’s Key West Campground: If summer beach fun and hot weather is what you prefer, visit Boyd’s Key West Campground, 6401 Maloney Ave., Key West, Florida. You can reach them for reservations at (305) 294-1465.

If you have the time, you can take a trip moving from one place to another. Plan to spend at least two weeks in each spot if you are retired or if you are living the RV lifestyle. If you have a short vacation, pick one for this vacation, then choose another for another vacation and cross them off the list as you visit. Each time you leave, stop by Leisure Time RV – or if you have always wanted to go RVing, stop by Leisure Time RV to pick up your new “home away from home.”
